Chipman is a great place, to be, and to explore the rest of our Province from. Being in the center of the Province, you can take day trips to other sites and see different scenery going to and coming back.
Chipman is historically an industrial community; however, the village is not without recreational resources.
ARENA-- The Chipman Arena on Arena Street offers public skating every Sunday during the winter. The ice may also be rented to individuals for a fee. League hockey games also take place at the arena.
BASEBALL -- The Chipman Ballfield on Arena Street is the place for everything baseball-related, be it league games or those organized by residents wishing to have a little fun. It is ideally-equipped with dugouts, lights, and washrooms.
CHIPMAN BOWL-A-RAMA --Located in the Industrial Park off Main Street, the Chipman Bowl-A-Rama is more than just a place to bowl: it contains an arcade, canteen, and pool tables.
YOUTH CENTER -- The Youth Center, a recent development in Chipman, offers all sorts of youth-oriented activities such as craft days, dances, movie nights, and other special events as well as everyday drop-in periods at noon hour and after school. The Youth Center can be found on Forest Avenue.
WINTER ACTIVITIES -- Chipman receives large accumulations of snow during the winter months, creating ideal conditions for many winter activities. Snowshoeing, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling are all popular forms of recreation for Chipman area residents.
FISHING -- The numerous bodies of water located near Chipman--Salmon River, Grand Lake, and Cains River to name a few--make it the perfect fishing destination.
HAMILTON BAIRD PARK -- The Hamilton Baird Park located on Northrup Drive is a very busy spot during summer. It offers a beach volleyball court, two tennis courts, a minigolf course, and a small playground.
RIDGEVIEW GREENS GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB -- The Ridgeview Greens Golf & Country Club located in Hardwood Ridge on Route 10 is a mere ten minutes from Main Street, Chipman. It consists of a 9-hole golf course, equipment and cart rentals, and a licensed diner.
CAMP WEGESEGUM -- Camp Wegesegum, located on Wegesegum Lane off Northrup Drive, offers summer camps, public swimming, and canoeing.
SUMMER FESTIVAL -- During the Chipman Summer Festival, a week-long celebration including amusement rides, dances, a parade, a Miss Chipman pageant, contests, and many other entertaining events. It is held in the parking lot on Arena Street.
HORSEBACK & SLEIGH RIDES -- Horseback rides and lessons are available from Russ Rasmussen, a Chipman entrepreneur living on Route 123. Sleigh rides are also available during the winter.
HUNTING -- Riverbend Lodge has trained guides and equipment available for organized individual or group hunting. The Lodge is located on Route 123 in Gaspereau Forks. Chipman and area has plenty of forested areas for licensed bear, deer, moose, bird, and small game hunters.
NATURE HIKES -- In addition to the various smaller and lesser-known trails located around the community, the Nature Trail which connects Main Street and Wegesegum Lane is a well-maintained path ideal for summer hiking.
WATER-BASED RECREATION -- The Chipman Marina permits light watercraft entrance into both the Salmon River and Grand Lake, as well as free docking space. Water skiing, jetskiing and other forms of water-based recreation are popular among Chipman residents. The Marina is located in downtown Chipman on Main Street.
